In her first major role since the end of “Friends,” Courtney Cox has returned to the small screen as Lucy Spiller on the FX hit “Dirt.” The show revolves around Spiller, the editor-in-chief of Dirt Now – the country’s most popular tabloid magazine – who is fiercely dedicated to exposing Hollywood scandals. It reveals the true nature of Hollywood and looks at the lives of people in the business.
Spiller turns to Don Konkey (paparazzo extraordinaire) played by Ian Hart for her signature scandalous images. Despite Konkey’s schizophrenia, the two uncover the dirt on the hottest stars – revealing sex scandals and juicy gossip.
Created by Matthew Carnahan and co-produced by FX, Touchstone Television and Coquette (the production company owned by Cox and her husband, David Arquette) – “Dirt” took off in its first season scoring 5.2 million viewers total.The highly anticipated second season began March 2nd on FX. It promises the same non-stop action as the first season with even more Dirt.
Cox moved to Los Angeles in 1985 to pursue an acting career. She got her big break on “FamilyTies” where she played Michael J. Fox’s girlfriend. She soon won parts in major motion pictures like 1994s AceVentura: Pet Detective and landed her famous role as Monica Geller on “Friends.” It was this role that propelled Cox to superstardom. She has since starred in a variety of movie roles including Scream and The Longest Yard. Cox met her husband, Arquette, on the set of Scream 2.The movie was good for her career as well as her private life. Their wedding took place in 1999 and the couple has an adorable little girl, Coco.
