Get that Style. Multiple Choice.

Rusk’s Sherri Jessee and Grace Nowitzky build versatility into wearable hair design.

“Our hair is our finest accessory,” says Rusk Creative Team’s Sherri Jessee. “We need options for changing that accessory. We don’t want to wear the same shoes every day! It’s the same with a hair style.”

Collaborating with the shoot’s artistic director Grace Nowitzky, Jessee designed this collection of styles to illustrate how one cut can launch a variety of looks. While Jessee sees longer hair in vogue for fall and adds that most women can benefit from layering those lengthier locks, she stresses that every cut must be individualized to flatter the woman wearing it. The common denominator is healthy, shiny hair, which is achieved through using the products recommended by a professional hair stylist.

A. For a fun, rockabilly pompadour evening look, tightly pin back the side sections and spray the hair with Rusk Sexy Hair Spray to smooth out any frizziness. Tease the rectangular section on the top of the head, and smooth it back with a Rusk Da Vinci brush. After applying a generous misting of Rusk Being Sexy Hair Spray, attach a diffuser to your Rusk W8less Hair Dryer and dry the hair on the low setting. This is a great trick to form an invisible hairnet that holds the hair throughout the night!
B. Fullness in the crown paired with turned-under ends defines this 1960s classic bob shape. To style, distribute throughout the hair a cocktail of 50 percent Rusk Classic Mousse and 50 percent Rusk Wired. Dry with a Rusk CTC blow dryer and Rusk’s 2-inch Heat Freak ceramic round brush.

C. Spray the hair with Rusk Thermal Iron Spray, and then deflate the bob shape by using the Rusk CTC Str8 Iron to give the ends a gentle shakeout. This turns a layered bob into a shag.

D. Add fringe with clip-in human hair bangs; your stylist can help you to match the color. After spraying the hair with Rusk Thermal Iron Spray, curl the hair with a 1-inch BabylissPro Ceramic Curling Iron, creating random curls all the way around and through the interior, but not on top. This will ensure that you get a flat, wide shape. Loosely rake your fingers through the hair to give the curls a less defined look.

E. All Of The Above.
“Our New York City model Andreia, originally from Portugal, has a great face,” says artist Sherri Jessee. “I used a level 5 Deepshine Demi to add depth and a warmer tone to her natural hair color while achieving radiant shine and superior condition. Then I shaped her hair, cleaning up the length and putting in soft layers with Rusk Beta Blades.”
