Make This Your Shining Moment
We’re so busy at this time of year. First there’s Halloween, then Thanksgiving and finally the full-on holiday season. We hang decorations, hum along with the music of the season and scramble to finish up the work on our desk in a shortened time frame. We run around to choose the cards we’ll send, the gifts we’ll give, the fashions we’ll wear and the food we’ll prepare. These are the things we want to get right. We’re a little more on display now than we usually are, so of course we want to shine – and we each have our own light inside that determines the direction of the beam.
The Salon becomes a hub of activity during these months. Book early, because everyone has the same idea: get an eye-catching hair cut, freshen the hair color, ask for a professional makeup consultation, have the stylist do the blowout or updo just hours before the party.
Remember to always insist on quality – all that glitters is not gold! So while you’re attending to your beauty needs, you’ll also want to check out the gift tables many salons set up during the holidays. From flat irons to baskets overflowing with quality hair and skin care products, the selection at your salon will take the edge off your holiday shopping stress and thrill the people on your gift list. Or, opt for a gift card to your salon and let the recipient have the fun of choosing the service.
Buying for friends and family isn’t the only kind of giving, of course. Charities hand out toys and clothing to needy children and depend on these final weeks of the year to fill up their coffers. When we stuff a bill into a charity box, we should all take a moment to glance at the metal container. We might just see our reflection and notice that we never shine brighter than when we’re generously giving back.
On behalf of everyone involved with Style Source, I want to wish Happy Holidays to our readers. May you have the brightest New Year ever.
