The weather is finally getting warm. How can I make this my sexiest spring and summer ever?
|
 |
When you finally stow away the sweaters and break out the cute tanks, the
last thing you want is furry arms! The next time you’re at the spa for your brow or
underarm wax, ask your technician about adding an arm wax. Smooth, hair-free arms
bring the finishing touch to your outfit for your sleekest, sexiest look. An arm wax takes
about a half-hour, costs $25-$30 and lasts four weeks—all through prom season!

I see a lot of tempting spa deals on social media sites like Facebook, Groupon and GiltCity. Can I really get a full spa service at these prices?
|
 |
Yes! Often spas won’t make money on these heavily discounted services, but whenever they can get hundreds of people to walk through their doors they’ll be able
to retain a percentage of them as regular customers. So for spas, it’s worth it as a way to recruit new clients. We’re coming back from a bad economy plus a harsh winter,
and social media is helping spas to rebuild business. From the consumer’s point of view, you can get a very good deal and try out a spa. If you like it, you might return.

I’ve always gone to a salon for my waxing, but some of my friends wax at home. Any tips for doing my bikini waxing at home?
|
 |
I highly suggest that you stick with a professional technician, especially when
you’re waxing a sensitive area like the bikini area. If you wax only once in a while, you
risk hurting yourself. On a recent episode of The Doctors on CBS, Dr. Lisa stressed the
importance of having a qualified technician perform the waxing service. If a waxing is not
done properly, she told the audience, infections can occur through any tears or cuts,
and the bikini area can be particularly prone to this because of the skin’s sensitivity.
“A bikini wax shouldn’t be done at home,” Dr. Lisa concluded. “Those home kits can be
dangerous, because the skin is very sensitive. Lip waxing and things like that [also] can be
dangerous, so I would say waxing should, in general, be done by a professional.”
When it is done properly, however, a bikini wax can be beneficial. Waxing eliminates
perspiration, which is a form of bacteria— toxins from your body—and bacteria gives off
an odor. If you keep the private area clean, there’s less perspiration and bacteria.
