Anne Hathaway is always very modest about her knack for putting together a great look, but in my book she succeeds and then some! Staying close to the classics and relying on some of the bestknown designers, Anne still keeps her fashions appropriately youthful. Her makeup and beautifully flowing hair similarly complement her without overpowering her. It is my pleasure to announce that Anne is the recipient of our latest Red Carpet Approved Award.

CHEMISTRY WITH THE CO-STARS

Anne Hathaway became an instant fairytale heroine to young girls through her earliest success, The Princess Diaries, in 2001, when People identified her as one of the year’s breakthrough stars. She followed it up with two sequels, along with well-reviewed appearances in Havoc, Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada and Becoming Jane. In the past two years she’s appeared in lighthearted fare— Get Smart, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland and Love and Other Drugs—but it was her 2008 title role in the drama Rachel Getting Married that earned Hathaway her Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Next up for Anne? As an accomplished soprano, she’s taking her turn on TV’s Glee, and this summer you can catch her back on the big screen purring in the coveted role of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises. Hathaway’s easygoing demeanor helps her believably connect on screen with other actors, both male and female.

GET THE LOOK

Like Anne, you can go from full to flat if you have the right tools and products. Rusk Creative Team’s Maria Guasta recommends:

To achieve wave, volume and body

  1. Apply Rusk Plumping Mousse from scalp to ends.
  2. To build volume, blow-dry with the Rusk Ceramic Round Brush. Wrap the hair in the brush vertically, apply extra heat in the middle part of the hair strand, let it cool for three seconds and then release the brush. Drying the entire head this way will develop the bend in the hair.
  3. Touch up with the BaBlissPro C Styler to accentuate the soft waves.
  4. Create the picture-perfect finish with a few drops of Deepshine Oil.

To flatten for a straight look

  1. Throughout the hair, apply Rusk Wired for separation and Rusk Softwear to add body while smoothing the frizz and curl.
  2. Setting your Rusk CTC Flat Iron at 375 degrees, spray Rusk Thermal Flat Iron Spray on each hair section as you flat-iron it.
  3. Finish with Rusk Shining Spray to give the hair a natural glow.
