Contest reveals the many reasons stylists and clients love Deepshine Oil.

Rusk Deepshine Oil has received an enthusiastic reception as a great hair-smoothing serum ever since its launch. But when word got out that salon professionals and their clients were putting Rusk Deepshine Oil to other—let’s say “creative” — uses, company execs decided to find out what that was all about by running a contest asking: How else do you use your Rusk Deepshine Oil? Five winners each received $500 for sharing the unusual benefits they’d discovered are provided by the lightweight, alcohol-free, pure argan oil. Deepshine Oil is truly a multi-use product!

Winner Olivia Crotts, stylist, Winston-Salem, NC
Uses Deepshine Oil as: a deep-conditioning treatment and scalp treatment.

“I like to experiment with products! One day after shampooing my hair, I applied the oil as a deep-conditioning treatment, put on a cap and sat under a dryer for about 30 minutes. When I rinsed out the product, my hair felt amazing! Another time, I used the oil as a scalp treatment. It’s great!”

Winner Carrie Cabral, salon client, Potosi, MO
Uses Deepshine Oil as: shaving cream.

““I was running for state representative in Missouri and staying at a hotel when I had a dinner to attend. I needed to shave my legs but realized I hadn’t brought shaving cream. Since my Deepshine Oil was handy, I grabbed it and spread it on my legs. After shaving, I wiped down my legs and they felt so smooth! I’ve also tried it on my underarms, and it keeps the bumps from forming.”

Winner Andrea Netzer, stylist, Hair Cuttery in the Roosevelt Mall, Philadelphia, PA
Uses Deepshine Oil as: a makeup remover and maosturizer for dry elbows.

“Ever since beauty school, I’ve always used products for all sorts of purposes. I thought I’d try Deepshine Oil on my dry elbows and also figured it might be good at removing makeup. It was amazing for both! What a great product!”

Winner Darl Renn, Renn Studio, Traverse City, MI
Uses Deepshine Oil as: a color block.

“I’d been looking for a color block to apply to my clients’ skin around the hairline before a color treatment. One day I had a cotton ball in my hand and the Deepshine Oil was right there, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ It works very well as a color block, especially on the lighter shades, and my clients really enjoy the aroma.”

Winner Melissa McTee, owner, McTee A Boutique Salon, Washington, IA
Uses Deepshine Oil as: a pedicure oil and full-body moisturizer.

“I tried some drops of Deepshine Oil in the pedicure water to provide clients with a silky-smooth, relaxing pedicure and the added bonus of the wonderful aroma. The oil really penetrated into the skin, making my clients’ feet extremely smooth and helping to soften the cuticle and any calluses. So now I use it myself as a moisturizer for my entire body after a shower, when the skin is warm and the pores are open so that it can absorb right in. Deepshine Oil rocks!”
