KATE’S INFLUENCE

Royal style trickles down to everyone.

I loved the simplicity of Kate’s dress—so elegant and classy. When members of royalty put their stamp on something, it gives it credibility. Just as everyone is fascinated by what celebrities are doing with their hair and wardrobe, people want to copy the look of those they feel have the “in” as far as style. Therefore, I think we will see simpler lines in the coming year. Perhaps we’ll also see more shoulder pads because they were added to Kate’s dress. I hope they’re not the prominent shoulder pads we saw in the ’80s!

Kate’s hair, natural and flowing, repeated the simplicity of the dress. I heard that William likes her hair down, and that’s why she wore it that way. Will we see brides around the world wearing their hair the way their grooms prefer?

NANCY'S PICK

My latest spa service obsession: I like the new gel nails they have now. They seem healthier for nails and tend to last longer.

Rusk deepshineOil My favorite end-of-summer wardrobe piece:
A great pair of nude-colored shoes. On my trip home from covering the Royal Wedding, I stopped in a duty free store and bought a pair— and now I can’t live without them. They go with everything!

My accessory choice of the moment:
I have three really cool pairs of sunglasses. They add wonderful style to any outfit, and the best thing is—shh, don’t tell!—I don’t have to wear eye makeup! A must-have for the summer!

The Rusk hair product that saves me: I apply Deepshine Oil when I head out to my pool. It works great as a conditioning treatment while I’m in the sun and gives me a nice sleek ’do.
