collageMain stage presentations, small breakout sessions and a hair styling celebrity host made Conair Professional’s Fall Education Jam the place to be for professional stylists and estheticians—and the “swag bag” gifting them with $100 worth of products helped attendees to feel extra welcome! Hosting the event at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa in Stamford, CT, was Faatemah Ampey, whose hairdressing talents have won her acclaim both at the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) and on Bravo’s reality show, Shear Genius. Faatemah’s passion for education came through as she demonstrated editorial session styling
methods using Rusk design and styling tools.

Also on platform was Jim Roberts, director of Rusk education and shows, leading a team of Rusk pros that included Naz Kupelian, Don Wyatt, Tim Riggins, Kevin Kirk, Bee Salas, Jose Perales, Julie Merritt, Marla Fox and Dennis Joseph. The artists showed looks hot off fashion runways as well as presenting the Creative Team’s beautiful Global Inspiration Collection.

Trainers focused on color and texture, demonstrating Rusk Deepshine Haircolor and the Rusk Anti-Curl smoothing system. Participants were encouraged to use quality color and smoothing as a business strategy to attract and retain clients.

Client retention was a topic here, too, with participants learning quick steps to create popular, artistic “hair tattoos.” The BaBylissPro team also shared the hottest new cutting technique—clipper cutting for long hair. Using the techniques they learned along with high-performing tools like the Volaré X1 Clipper and Nano Titanium irons, attendees could return to their salons with new confidence to serve a demanding clientele.

Each participating esthetician had an opportunity to become a certified Satin Smooth tech by completing advanced training in Brazilian waxing.
