Hollywood Romance

It may be called “Tinseltown,” but there’s lots of genuine love here!

In my hosting duties for Entertainment Tonight, I meet so many great people—and great couples! One thing we count on at ET is that people are always falling in love, taking a romantic trip together, celebrating a significant anniversary or just supporting each other’s projects. I know there are a lot of splits, too, and that becomes difficult for everyone involved whether they’re celebrities or everyday people. On the air, we try to treat that with sensitivity. We’d much rather have something in the “good” romance department to report! Maybe that’s because I appreciate the love in my life so much.

I’m so fortunate to have a great husband! Keith and I don’t like to spend long periods apart; we try to avoid that Hollywood pitfall of letting work steal us away from each other. Even though we both travel a lot professionally, we take the other along whenever possible. When you spend too much time away, you grow apart.

The travel makes us cherish our time at home. When we’re both here, I enjoy just staying home and sipping a glass of wine while cuddling in bed with my hubby, having a great talk or watching a romantic movie. I think I like our talks the best, when we really share our feelings. Communication is key—even if it’s arguing! My husband and I say our arguments actually help us to grow closer together because they force us to talk so much about what we are feeling.

On Valentine’s Day, whatever our plans—a dinner out, etc.—we always try to include our kids. We want them to know, on a day that celebrates all kinds of love, how much we cherish them. My 4-year-old daughter loves Valentine’s Day with hearts, flowers and candy—what little girl can resist that!

The thing I will remember most about covering the Royal Wedding was hearing those bells at Westminster Abbey start to ring, signifying that this huge event to be watched by millions upon millions around the world was about to begin. I got goosebumps up and down my arms! After all, it was about love, and we all want love in our lives!craft book

LOVE Collection

Just in time for Valentine's Day!

You know how much I love making photo albums, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion for gathering the photos of the people who bring love into your life. I always say when I open my albums that I see smiles, I see tears, I see hope, faith and happiness. I see them shared, and that’s what my latest Nancy O’Dell scrapbooking collection with Creative Memories is about — celebrating love, whether it’s love for a sweetheart, a child, a parent, a pet or a place. The collection is entitled, of course, “Love”! And I’d love for you to check it out at
