After months of planning, I am happy to say that the 21st Annual Beauty Ball & Charity Gala was a huge hit. It was a great night for an even greater cause, as the monies raised went to victims of hurricane Katrina and Locks of Love, two incredible
charities that deserve our attention.
The disco-themed soiree, held at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, was abuzz with stylists and some of the industry’s biggest players, as they danced the night away to acts like Martha Washington (Lady Marmalade) and ate from a menu created by
celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich. The silent auction, where big ticket items like a $10,000 Italian vacation and a $12,000 custom motorcycle were sold, helped generate even more cash for these worthy organizations.
On a similar note, my middle daughter Adriana recently performed her own selfless act when she donated more than a foot of her hair to Locks of Love. At only 14-years-old, she is an inspiration to our immediate family, as well as our family here at
Style Source and we are very proud of her.
In this issue, be sure to check out our artistic team’s fabulous work at Miami Fashion Week, and get a deeper look into artistic director Sandra Yu.
This summer, we also get the chance to relish in one of my own personal favorite events, FIFA World Cup soccer. Check out our lineup of some of the sport’s best players and tips on how to get their style.
Here’s to a great summer.
